My name is Wido de Marval and I was born in 1977 of a Scottish mother and a Swiss father.

Drawing since an early age, I turned myself towards tattooing after doing classical studies in Latin. Then, after a two year apprenticeship in a studio in town, I had the distinguished honour in 2000 of being invited to work with the Leu family in the "Leu Family's Family Iron Street Shop", 36 Avenue de France, 1004 Lausanne. There I work alongside Filip Leu, whom I consider to be the best tattoo artist in the world, and Rinzing Thaptsangky, an excellent artist whose influence and origins are Tibetan.

I have a great penchant for Japanese and Asian/Oriental style, having been influenced by the amazing collections of my father, a world specialist in Indonesian arts and a great amateur among other things of Japanese art.

I have now been tattooing since 1999 but would certainly not have come so far with my work without Filip's wonderful experience and talent and without Titine and Loretta's support. They are also outstanding artists and amazing people.
